Mr.Guo Yuqing has over 10 years of legal service experience. He has participated in a large number of cross-border greenfield investment, M&A, and financing projects in the mining and energy sectors – the majority of which are located in countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" Initiative (BRI). His primary clients include various types of "going global" enterprises (including a significant number of central and state-owned enterprises), state-owned funds, commercial banks of all types, and China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure).
Drawing on years of experience in advising on various cross-border projects, Attorney Guo has a profound understanding of the risks that Chinese-funded enterprises may encounter at all stages of cross-border energy, mining and infrastructure projects. He is capable of providing practical solutions tailored to the actual circumstances of each project and has accumulated extensive experience in communicating and negotiating with foreign governments. In the Colluli Potash Project, Attorney Guo traveled to Eritrea twice to engage in discussions with the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Finance of Eritrea. For the hydropower financing project in Guinea — the country’s first hydropower BOT project — he represented the client in negotiations with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy, Hydropower and Hydrocarbons of Guinea, which lasted for two months.
Meanwhile, Attorney Guo is also an expert in asset finance and aviation practice. To date, he has represented various Chinese clients in acquiring and disposing of over 50 aircraft of different types through acquisition, sale, lease, and other transaction structures.
