On June 6th, 2016, Mr. Lin Du, Vice President of the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, and Mr. Shengtao Hong, Head of Clean Energy Securities Department of Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley, visited Sunshine Law Firm Beijing office, accompanied by Dr. Dawei Tang, the head of HD Institute of Environment Observation. The guests had a warm conversation with Dr. Lizhao Wen, partner of environment practice, and Dr. Weidong Yang, partner of international practice at Sunshine Law Firm.
 
Mr. Hong has been working on CDM projects for a long period after the execution of Kyoto Protocol. Although Japan’s CDM projects have had less promising market in recent years since the Post-Kyoto age arrived, Mr. Hong believes that China will embrace the age of carbon trading by launching the national carbon trading system in 2017, and that lawyers will have great opportunities in this area. Mr. Hong had a good exchange with Sunshine lawyers regarding how to develop a law practice in carbon trading.
