On October 11th, Seminar of EU’s Energy Laws and Policies Tendency was successfully held by Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center at BAC’s international meeting room. Ms. Ana Stanič, Founding Partner of E&A Law Limited and honorary lecturer of University of Dundee, was invited to deliver the keynote speech. CQO of Sunshine Law Firm, ERE researcher and also an arbitrator of BAC, Dr. Yang Weidong together with over 50 experts of legal practice from large state-owned enterprises, well-known law firms, universities and research institutions attended this seminar. This seminar was presided by Mr. Zhang Libin, a BAC arbitrator and also a partner of Broad & Bright’s Beijing office. 

Ms. Ana Stanič’s speech focused on “Inter-Governmental Energy Protocol under EU laws” ,“Amendment of Gas Supply Regulation”, “Government Assistance Regulation under EU laws”, “unbundling regulation of transportation system operators”, “Third Party Access Regulation of Oil & Gas Facilities”, “EU’s Competition Law & Anti-Monopoly Law” and “Compare of EU Laws and International Investment Laws” and had in-depth analysis on issues related to “Tendency of EU’s Energy Laws and Policies”.

In the following discussion, Dr. Yang Weidong commented on Ms. Ana’s speech. Combined with China state-owned enterprises’ overseas investment practice and Sunshine’s legal service experience on investment to Europe, he had discussion with Ms. Ana and other attenders on issues related to EU’s energy law’s tendency and its influence to investment environment, nuclear power going out, national assistance, the impact EU’s enhancement on member countries’ non-governmental agreements’ investigation caused to Energy Charter Treaty, Bilateral Investment Treaty and the Overall International Investment legal system, and etc.
